Subtle aromas of jasmine flower, citrus oil, green apple, and pear lead the way in this Russian River Valley Chardonnay. Fresh kiwi, lemon drop, and green apple flavors dominate the palate, followed by subtle mineral notes and a hint of crystallized ginger in the finish.
Vineyard & Vintage Character:
Sourced from a collection of small vineyards throughout the Russian River Valley AVA, this Chardonnay captures the essence of the region. The blend showcases the best of the AVA’s sub-regions:
- Middle Reach: Ripe fruits, honeysuckle, and jasmine characters.
- Green Valley: Citrus, lemon drop candy, and green apple aromas and flavors.
- Laguna Ridge: Baked apple and pear, layered texture, crystallized ginger finish.
- Sebastopol Hills: Bright citrus oil aromatics with focused acidity and lemon-lime flavors.
- Santa Rosa Plains: Rich citrus and apple aromas with a round, long texture.
Each sub-region brings complexity and character to the final blend, making this a beautifully layered wine.
Winemaking:
This Chardonnay was barrel fermented in 100% French oak, with 28% new oak, and aged for 9.5 months. The result is a balanced and elegant wine with fresh acidity and a rich texture.
